Hello Lady, Buy Something

Monkey at Angkor Wat, Cambodia

Angkor Wat, Cambodia

I’m writing you this email sitting at a quiet internet shop in downtown Chiang Mai, and I’m just after having the best avocado sandwich ever… I spent a couple of hours at an organic café earlier today, sipping fantastic mint & honey lassi and reading a very interesting book about the origins of traditional thai medicine – my idea of how to best spend a hot and sunny day off :)

I’ve been back in Chiang Mai for five days already, after my beautiful and interesting visit to Cambodia. Perhaps you remember, going to Cambodia was very much a spur of the moment thing, and it was a very lucky one too!

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Sues’day, friends! Here’s another one of them travel reports for you all :)

I just decided to go to Cambodia! I’ll be flying out at sunrise tomorrow. I’m getting better and better at this spontaneity thing ;) I’m planning on spending five days in Siem Reap, visiting Angkor Wat and… what else? I don’t know yet, so if you have any ideas or recommendations – please feel free to share them with me!

Polite! No Smile, No Sexy

Wat Po, Bangkok

Wat Po, Bangkok

Sawadee kaa! It’s been a bit more than a week since I returned now, safe and sound. My home town gave me a freezing welcome; everything was covered with fresh, white snow. The last few days I’ve been catching up with hot showers, sleep and Criminal Minds (currently my favourite TV show). I’m back at work too, but only part time. I’m still quite confused about life, since I can’t go back to where I left off in the end of October. I keep finding myself in some sort of creative chaos whenever I try to focus, so I guess I’ll just be hanging here for a while, see what happens…

Hairy Pressure, Anyone?

Laem Ngop harbour, Trat

The simplicity of sun, sea and sand...

Sawadee! This is the last post from Koh Mak, at least on this trip. Today is the last day of the retreat, and tomorrow we are heading back to the mainland and Bangkok. Almost half the group left already this morning, so there is a bit of a quiet atmosphere here today. This means that I’ll start my “real” holiday tomorrow! :) It also means no more 3 am mornings, no more sleeping in the hammock, no more walks on the beach, no more sandflies and no more group meditations in the evenings… Some things I’ll miss, some I won’t! ;)

Late? Sing the Roti Song!

Bungalow, Koh Mak, Thailand

Paradise!

As most of you know, I’m in Thailand right now. I’m spending four weeks on Koh Mak, a little green paradise island off the South-East coast. And yes, it is yoga related :)

…and since I’ve gotten the question several times; No, I don’t know how to go on holiday like “normal” people! ;) This IS the perfect holiday, with interesting things to do and discover, nice people to hang out with and other people who take care of you, cook food for you, clean your room every day etc. Getting up before 4 am isn’t really a problem, it just makes the days longer ;)
