It’s no secret that I’m ridiculously fond of watchalongs and readalongs, so you can probably imagine how excited I am about this – taking part in my very first knitalong!
This knitalong is an initiative by Crafts from the Cwtch and Misadventures in Craft, so please do visit their blogs for more details and inspiration. The Stripe Study Shawl pattern is designed by Veera Välimäki.
The yarn I’ll be using is Kauni 8/2 Effektgarn in colour EME (pinks and reds) and Kauni 8/2 solid black; both 100% wool. I’ve never used this yarn before, but chose it because when I was browsing finished projects on Ravelry I was absolutely stunned by how amazing the variegated colours looked combined with the geometrical shapes of this pattern. It’s reasonably priced, too.
I ordered the yarn online today, so it should be here in a couple of days. Can’t wait to cast on :)
Patience, grasshopper!

ooh!! dharma!! beginning good ... middle good... end good...

It’s going to be absolutely awesome and you know the weirdest thing….? This is the EXACT same combination I was looking at last night when I was thinking about making another one with different coloured stripes!!!! I even had the pinky one in my basket at one point and then decided to wait until I’ve finished this one before I buy it!!!!!!!
Love love love it!
ooh, amazing synchronicity?! how wonderful :D
i got the yarn yesterday, so i’ve cast on now! i expected it to be scratchy, but it’s actually waaay more scratchy that I would have imagined… hmm…
thanks a million for making this knitalong happen, and thanks a lot for stopping by :)
