This Week I Am…

Kirsty Logan - The Gracekeepers

Kirsty Logan – The Gracekeepers

This week I am:

watching Haider, which has one of my all-time favourite jodis: Vishal Bhardwaj and Shahid Kapoor ;

golluming over colourful chevron patterned washi tape;

treating myself to bucketfuls of hot, sweet, milky masala chai: Celestial Seasonings Chai Tea India Spice with plenty of coconut-almond milk;

eating 95% chocolate and candied ginger (divine combo!);

reading The Gracekeepers by Kirsty Logan — quite possibly the prettiest book cover of the year!;

doodling with a white gel pen on the cover of sand coloured Moleskine Cahier journals;

sewing a dragon (actually, now sewing yet — I’m still only cutting the fabric…);

looking forward to celebrating midsummer in about a week’s time;

knitting a pair of socks — lace and yummy hand dyed yarn;

sleeping, so much;

craving homemade sourdough bread with cheese and alfalfa sprouts;

sadly missing out on yet another one of my best friends’ 40th b’day celebrations (because I’m way too ill to leave the bed/sofa);

experimenting in my art journal, having fun with hand lettering and a Japanese fude pen on inky (Golden High Flow acrylic paint) backgrounds;

The format of this post is inspired by a post my favourite author Maggie O’Farrell made a while back.

Monos Locos Socks (Countess Ablaze yarn)

Monos Locos

I’m knitting a heavily modified version of the Los Monos Locos socks (a toe-up version of Cookie A’s Monkeys), using Lady Persephone yarn hand dyed by Countess Ablaze. The colourway is Baked! Taste the Lotus and Forget the Way Home.

(Sadly, the photo doesn’t do justice at all to the amazingly deep, rich and vibrant colours.)
