Missing Mitchell Mitts

Missing Mitchell Mitts

Missing Mitchell Mitts

I’m super happy with these, what a brilliant design — so much fun, so cute :) Perfectly wearable too

Will definitely be using this pattern again, and I’d definitely recommend it to others. It’s very well-written and quite easy; this was my second ever cable project and I didn’t have any difficulties at all.

Unfortunately the pictures don’t do justice to the yarn, sorry about that. It has a lovely sheen and the colour has so much more life to it than I managed to capture on camera.

Pattern: Cwtchy Cable Armwarmers by Crafts From The Cwtch Designs.
Yarn: Fyberspates Scrumptious Dk in Plum, purchased at Mrs Moon.
Needles: 4 mm (US 6) dpns.

Missing Mitchell MittsModifications:

  • Cast on 36 stitches
  • Added afterthought style thumbs (after 6 repeats of round 1 to 9)
  • 8 rows rib at the bottom/arm, 6 rows rib at the top/fingers
  • Knitted 2 repeats of row 1 to 9 after adding thumb

…and the name? John Mitchell, of course! My favourite mitten-wearing vampire
If you haven’t already, do check out Being Human (UK), possibly the best tv-series you might not be watching yet… :)

Mind the Gap (The Eleanor Scarf)

Absolutely gorgeous yarn! Soft, heavy (and a bit pricey); a pure joy to knit :)

I adore this pattern too – it’s very simple but fun, and the result is beautiful. A very yummy, warm and squishy scarf that is delicious to wear.

I absolutely love the colour of this yarn! I’m very happy with the design too, it’s really comfortable to wear.

Yarn: Wool Clasica by Manos del Uruguay in Bacchus, 5 skeins = 530 m. Knitted with double strands throughout.
Needles: 12.75 mm (US 17).
Wooden buttons: 35 mm (1.38 inch) in diameter, from Lyanwood.

I made this one before finding out that Anaid Design not only makes scarves but also sells the pattern. Yay! So I immediately bought the pattern here and made this :)

Gratitude and Bewildered Inspiration

Cosmic Contentment (knitted scarf)

Cosmic Contentment

Life moves in mysterious ways :) To my utter surprise and unbounded joy I recently discovered that I’m actually able to knit – for a few minutes every now and then – despite everything. I’m absolutely elated!
