A Bubble Raised

When I open my eyes to the outer world
I feel myself as a drop in the sea;
but when I close my eyes and look within,
I see the whole universe
as a bubble raised in the ocean of my heart.

Dharma Cookies and Manga

Buddha Cookies, photo by Kazue

These have to be the cutest dharma cookies I’ve ever seen! The photo above comes from a post on the lovely Japanese blog Kazue Bits, where Kazue writes:

My friend gave me these cookies printed with art from Osamu Tezuka’s Buddha series. I wondered if when I ate them I’d become enlightened. Anyway they tasted good and the printed colors were so beautiful.

Sweet and adorable! I’m not familiar with manga at all, but reading about Tezuka’s books has really made me curious now :)

What Do We Talk About Then?

This is an excerpt that I transcribed from one of Adyashanti’s talks, where he speaks a bit about mutual meeting points and ‘being surrender’. It’s something that continues to feel relevant to me – this longing for real, genuine connections; a sense of intimacy and belonging expressed in the dimension of form, in the realm of human experience – and what he says here has a beautiful resonance.

In what place do we have a mutual meeting point?

Recipe below, enjoy! :)

Liquorice + Lime Pie

Liquorice + Lime Pie

This ugly looking little vegan one is a raw and slightly salty macadamia crust filled with a liquorice flavoured almond-coconut cream, topped with a (seemingly invisible) layer of lime jelly.

It was an improvised experiment, and I was happy with how it came out :)

Think Occasionally…

Emptiness Becomes Love

“In the heart of a human being,
emptiness becomes love.
When we touch that Source,
instantly the love is present.
Literally, the divine becomes human
and the human becomes divine.”

Being… Tasting… Chocolate…

Melted chocolate

I’m paraphrasing Papaji in saying that most of us don’t want to be chocolate, we want to taste it…

And yet we all are just like wee bits of gorgeous chocolate… vibrant, delicious…100% chocolate no matter our size or shape… incessantly, tracelessly tasting our own bittersweetness… that aweinspiring something-something on the tip of the tongue that can’t be put into words… melting to the touch; the loving touch of the mystery that is life itself…

Being and tasting, neither different nor the same…
