The Elusiveness of Perfection

Black Swan

Black Swan

I’m still stunned after watching the film Black Swan a couple of days ago. Deeply moving, beautiful and unsettling… Amazing.

Perfection isn’t just about control. It’s also about letting go. Surprise yourself so you can surprise the audience. Transcend it.

Only That Remains

Mooji & Arunachala

The birds have vanished into the sky,
and now the last cloud drains away.

We sit together, the mountain and me,
until only the mountain remains.

Cruelty Prefers Abstraction

Jersey cow sniffing at a camera in the sun

What do you see?

»Having little exposure to animals makes it much easier to push aside questions about how our actions might influence their treatment. The problem posed by meat has become an abstract one: there is no individual animal, no singular look of joy or suffering, no wagging tail, and no scream. The philosopher Elaine Scarry has observed that ‘beauty always takes place in the particular.’ Cruelty, on the other hand, prefers abstraction.«

Happy be-day dearest Ramana! Lots of love & gratitude, always

Happy Winter Solstice!

Eclipse 2010-12-21

Happy solstice, full moon, eclipse and merry midwinter!

In honour of the winter solstice, what better moment than this to reflect upon and recognise our inner, eternal source of light that unceasingly continues to illuminate our hearts and existence?

This day marks a gentle shift carrying us towards longer, brighter days. The word solstice literally means ‘sun stands still’, a beautiful reminder of the vivid stillness that is the essence of all movement and change. What would it be like to look through the eyes of this stillness? How would the world appear? Would you be able to find your own eyes, would you be able to meet your own gaze?

Wishing you all lots of love, warmth, light and ease of heart :) Shine on, beautiful One!  .¸¸.•*¨*•♥

The Bigger Picture Unfolding

Surya in Mayaavi

Are you living the part?

Trying to control the flow of perceptions/experiences of life, is like watching a movie by analyzing each picture on the movie roll as a separate experience. If you allow the roll to play, only then can you experience the beauty and thrill of the movie. Only then do you, quite literally, see the bigger picture. Let life flow as it wants to. Sit back and watch the bigger picture unfold itself.
